hotel via: san francisco's newest boutique hotel

Hey there! :)

This weekend has been absolutely amazing in San Francisco. We've had such amazing weather all weekend - it almost actually feels like summer should (a rarity in SF!) After a fun day of hanging with our friends at Fort Mason on Saturday, we were absolutely exhausted. The perfect Sunday cure was a staycation at Hotel VIA in San Francisco's SOMA district. It's brand new (opened this summer!) and one of San Francisco's only boutique hotel in SOMA - perfect for the business traveler + right across the street from AT&T park so also perfect for the Giant's fan who got to rowdy to drive home!

Hotel VIA is so chic, so I had to share more with you guys! I had the opportunity to meet with the hotel's head of sales and marketing last week and got a tour of the entire property, and I instantly fell in love. Most of you probably know that I love hotels in general, but especially when they are not a part of huge chains. The independence gave the hotel the opportunity to customize literally everything in the design and building process, which makes it really unique! Every piece of furniture was built specifically for the room its in, as no one room is exactly the same dimensions, which goes to show the amount of thought that went into each room to create absolute perfection.

The interiors of the hotel are amazing with all whites and a pop of turquoise blue, mixed with wood furniture and marble bathrooms - complete #minimalismgoals if you're like and drool over a clean, simple interior with a pop of my favorite color... not to mention the interiors are perfectly on brand with The Urbanite Insight! The hotel rooms overlook the city and many have a view of AT&T park, the bay bridge, of San Francisco's gorgeous downtown skyline.

There are also not 1, but 2 outdoor patios to hang out on. There aren't many rooftop bars in San Francisco, which always made zero sense to me since SOMA has the warmest weather in the city! Hotel VIA killed it with their outdoor spaces and VIEWS for days. The rooftop (12th floor) space has a bar along with these awesome cabanas for rent, or have tables and lounge chairs if you just want to go soak in some sunshine (when @karlthefog's away). The second outdoor space is a patio on the 4th floor - both are available for private events too.

Finally, let's get down to it... I can't finish a post for The Urbanite Insight without talking about food. Bar VIA, whose entrance is on King Street, right across from the ballpark, outdid itself with the small plates and drinks. The South Beach area of SOMA has a ton of divey bars like Pete's & Pedro's, but Bar VIA's upscale interiors and cocktail list makes it the perfect neighborhood spot to mix things up - definitely a great place to bring a customer or your hot date! The guys behind the food at Bar VIA are the guys from 25 Lusk, so if you've been there you know the food is great. A few of the items that stood out to me from the menu include the trout taco, ahi tuna sahimi, and carne asada tots (on their happy hour menu!) for the small plates, and the Haight-Ashbury and Mission St. for the cocktails (all named after iconic SF neighborhoods and streets!)

Hope you get a chance to stay at Hotel VIA soon! I definitely recommend it for the business traveler since it's such a convenient location (a whole 1 block away from my office!)

My stay at Hotel VIA was compliments of the hotel, but as always, all opinions are my own. :)
