Nick's Cove is one of the cutest getaway destinations in Northern California - picture the most quaint cottages with a waterfront view of Tomales Bay and and Hog Island. Rustic meets luxury is the best way I can explain Nick's Cove.
We arrived after work on Friday, just in time to see the most amazing sunset view from our cottage. The friendly staff was so accommodating and welcoming, greeting us with complimentary welcome oysters that were to die for.
We secured a dinner reservation at the renowned restaurant at Nick's Cove - they're equally as known for fine dining as they are for the picturesque cottages. Joshua Seibert is the executive chef as of September 2016, and he is very talented! We had a group of four, so ordered quite a few things to share in order to taste it all. My favorite dishes were the lobster risotto, the BBQ oysters, and the ahi tuna entree. The fish was unbelievably fresh.
I absolutely loved their Moscow Mule cocktail too. They are known for it, since they make their ginger syrup fresh in house daily, and it definitely did not disappoint!

After dinner we went back to our cottage and enjoyed the views and serene setting. We drank (lots of) wine and played games late into the evening. If you saw my Instagram story, you could tell just how much fun we had at Nick's Cove in our cute, cozy, and luxurious waterfront cottage.

The rooms themselves are cutely decorated with a mix of rustic and newly-renovated amenities. We stayed in the Big Rock cottage, and one of the bathrooms had this amazingly huge iron, free standing tub. Vintage-chic to the max. The mini bar in the room (which wasn't actually so mini) was stocked with some pretty awesome local products too - St. George's gin being of them. I love when businesses support other local businesses. It makes the whole experience more boutiquey and personalized.
Waking up there was definitely the highlight of the entire getaway. Despite the headache from a couple too many glasses of wine the night before, opening my eyes to that view was 100% magical. Watching the fog roll over Tomales Bay and turn into clear skies was such a treat. They also deliver complimentary breakfast to your room - again, the food was SO delicious.
If you're looking for the perfect escape from the city chaos, check this spot out - it's only an hour and a half drive from San Francisco. If you are addicted to food + travel like me, Nick's Cove has both and is a little slice of paradise.
