San Francisco is absolutely amazing, but sometimes it's necessary to getaway from the hustle and bustle for a night and escape to wine country to relax. I recently found the MacArthur Place, which is a large, historic, manor-looking hotel and spa. The estate is comprised of beautiful gardens, gorgeous old trees, and historic architecture that is just so darn charming! The two story Victorian house dominates most of the property, and was created in the 1850s. From the moment you walk in, you're treated with 5 star service, beginning with warm hand towles at the reception.

The property is huge with a spa, pool area, ping pong, a restaurant and a library. The restaurant is called Saddles Steakhouse, and has 4/5 stars on Yelp. You can make a reservation here. I'd love to go back for dinner some time. We had a complimentary breakfast at Saddles, but decided to check out one of the hottest restaurants in downtown Sonoma for our dinner.
Jumpsuit on sale now for $19.99 here!
The library has a fireplace to keep you cozy during the winter months, tons of games, and an extensive set of movies on DVD that you can bring back to your room to watch. The MacArthur Place also offers a complimentary wine and cheese happy hour from 5-7 in the library, which we took advantage of (obviously.)
For dinner, we went to The Girl and the Fig and absolutely loved our meal there. The food in this area is all so fresh, as they strive for a farm-to-table dining experience. We also did the red wine flights and the waitress helped us pair each flight with the courses and foods we were eating.
I'd love to go back to the MacArthur Place Hotel & Spa soon for a longer stay than just a one night getaway! The great thing about the MacArthur Place is that it's on Chase rewards. So, if you're like me and you love the Chase Sapphire Preferred to rack in the double points since you're spending your money on food and travel any way, then this is a perfect place to use some of those points for a getaway!
